Defense Ministry Launches Development of Combat Station and Drone Acquisition Projects

The Slovenian Ministry of Defense has signed agreements with domestic defense companies, marking a significant step in strengthening military capabilities and fostering local industry collaboration.

One of the key projects involves the research and development of the Mangart 25 remote-controlled combat turret, spearheaded by Valhalla Turrets in partnership with Slovenian companies, including ASH. ASH contributes its expertise in advanced technologies, playing a vital role in the integration and innovation of this state-of-the-art turret system. The turret, designed to counter drones, aircraft, and ground targets up to 3,000 meters away, is modular, enabling compatibility with various vehicle platforms and additional subsystems such as machine learning algorithms and missile systems.

The Mangart 25 project is backed by a €4.9 million investment from the Ministry and is set to be completed by 2025.

In addition to this, the Ministry is procuring a cutting-edge drone system enhanced with nuclear, radiological, chemical, and biological (CBRN) capabilities. This technological demonstrator, developed by a consortium led by Arctur, aims to address dual-use scenarios for both military and civilian applications.

Finally, Slovenia is also a leader in the INDY project, a European Defense Fund initiative focusing on energy-efficient, deployable military camps. This strategic project aligns with the European Green Deal and highlights Slovenia’s innovative edge in defense and sustainability.

Through its involvement in these projects, ASH continues to support groundbreaking advancements in defense technology, showcasing the strength and expertise of Slovenia’s defense industry.
